We were attracted to Strong Angels charity many years ago because this small locally based charity raised funds to support underprivileged village families in Bali. These families benefited from our support by allowing students to complete their secondary education which then leads to better opportunities in gaining employment. I first met Ayu after befriending her father at the hotel I stayed at when in Bali. Ayu’s father, Gusti, was the pool attendant while her mother worked in the small plot of land they leased; growing rice and raising chooks, ducks and a pig. Ayu has a younger sister and brother. As the eldest, Ayu had lots of responsibilities helping her mother and father support the family - working in the fields, tending the livestock and helping in the little shop Gusti tried unsuccessfully

I have worked as a volunteer with Strong Angels Inc for over 4 years and really enjoy the charity and its mission. “Changing Poverty through education and making dreams come true.” I’m a frequent visitor to Bali and understand how difficult it is for young people in Bali to get a start in life.
